A bit about my journey
My academic background in Industrial Design launched me into a cross-disciplinary design career where I worked with legendary brands like Yokohama, Tata Group, and Loreal, as a part of multiple local start-ups and design agencies. I designed solutions ranging from exhibition designs, retail design installations, colour and trend forecasts to digital interfaces. With time I found myself catapulted into the digital revolution and was beyond thrilled to be at the heart of rapid innovations being fuelled and brought to life in cross-functional agile workflow environments.
My industry tenure is peppered with diverse, multi-industry and multi-sector projects with corporations big & small like Ontario Lottery and Gaming, Canadian Olympics Committee, Metrolinx, Interac, Aritzia, Questrade, Loblaws, and Sobeys, to name a few. In this season of my career, I am committed to mastering both the strategic and the tactical aspects of the ever-evolving craft of Product design which is so much more than the clothes that businesses wear. I am an advocate for Design to have a seat at the corporate strategy table and love being brought early into conversations that strategically target problems big or small. Permission to flex my critical thinking muscles when building holistic, well-informed, multifaceted, and even AI-enabled digital products, help me stay honest to the design process and keeps me happy at work.

In my spare time
Beyond the confines of my professional work, I like to surround myself with the visual arts and tools of photography. I am inspired by the surface patterns and design history of textiles and pretty buildings that surround us. When I try to capture these details in my photography & illustrations, I try my very best not to fall through the cracks of my own self-criticism of these exploratory works. I remind myself to slow down and let my creative spirit flourish in a no-judgement zone. As creatives by trade, its easy to forget that. Check out some of my art experiments here. Currently, I am eager to experiment with some advanced AI programs to see how they can further enhance both product design and my art practice of digital pattern making and photography while keeping the integrity & reverence for these methods intact.
For family time, I like to go on hikes, ride bikes in the summer, watch documentaries, take on impossible home projects and scout out hidden gems of restaurants.
If you made it this far, I couldn't be more grateful for your time! Design is a way of life for me & I am always up for opportunities to consult, present, workshop, or simply share thoughts over coffee or tea (pick your poison). Please feel free to drop me a line below.
